Acne Remedies

Acne affects over 90% of people at certain point in their life most commonly during puberty although acne is not uncommon in young adults either. Acne is commonly mild to moderate and does not cause acne scaring in majority of cases. Mild to moderate acne most often does not require prescription medications for acne nor any special treatment. There are countless different acne treatment products from different manufacturers which can be used for treatment of mild to moderate acne which can be also successfully treated with a variety of home and herbal remedies.

Acne lesions in a form of whiteheads, blackheads or pimples (small red bumps) are most commonly treated with the following remedies: tea tree oil (please note that tea tree oil must be used diluted), lemon juice, apple cinder vinegar, aloe vera, cucumber, garlic, basil, carrot juice, honey and many other remedies which can be found in almost every kitchen and garden. Mentioned remedies are commonly applied directly to the affected area except for all essential oils including tea tree oil. Essential oils have to be diluted due to their concentrated nature which can cause severe irritation or allergic reaction if applied undiluted to the skin. Many popular acne remedies also feature combination of two or several ingredients, for example lemon juice and rose water, lemon juice and cinnamon powder, mint juice and turmeric powder, etc.

The traditional acne remedies are all-natural, safe (unless being allergic to any ingredient) and effective in most cases. However, the efficacy of particular acne remedy greatly varies from person to person and you might not find an effective remedy immediately and will have to try several different acne remedies before finding the one that works the best for you.
